Visual Arts

Hi, my name is Kiera Pirell and I love art. I particularly enjoy sharing my experiences with art and encouraging others to explore what art can do for them. Throughout my career I have shared my experiences within the Summit Nyack community. Working within this community has taught me so much about my teaching practices and what I can do to contribute to my community as an artist and as a mentor. 

Within my practices of  teaching Media & Visual Arts, I provide support for all students investigating the vast variety of ways artwork is expressed and conveyed. Students are presented with societal, cultural, and historical examples to expand their knowledge, view and understand the arts.  Students are given opportunities to experiment with their own expressions and encouraged to explore and develop interpersonal skills in Fine Arts and Design. 

My mission is to introduce the joy of art, effectively encourage creativity and consistently inspire knowledge and growth within my students.
